Director Steve Simpson was appointed to the Valley-Wide Recreation and Park District Board of Directors in November 2010. He graduated from Indiana University with a Doctor of Optometry degree in 1989. Dr. Simpson moved to Hemet in 1991 and has a private optometry office in east Hemet. He has two children who went through many Valley-Wide programs and he coached Valley-Wide baseball for several years. Dr. Simpson enjoys mountain biking, pickleball, golf, tennis, and ping pong. He is dedicated to the community through service organizations and is a proponent of healthy lifestyles.
